Dogs and animals have always been a big part of my live. My grandmother had two German Shepherds witch I spend alot of time with. Then my family got our first dog 1994, that was our Labrador Retriever, Bóas. He did break the ice, we could not have a home without dog!
So I got the "dog flu" quite early. I got my own dog the year 1998, when I was 15 years old, that was my Alex my first Shih Tzu. And the breed stole my heart for sure - They just own you for life.

And like you mabe know, Shih Tzus are like potato chips, you can´t have just one!

My interest in the breed just grow with the years. Alex was not much of a showdog but a super character. Few years later, after been looking for the right Shih Tzu puppy, I was offered a year old male, my dear&sweet Anton Tibets Prides Way Of The Dragon. He had already been imported to Iceland of kennel Perluskins. He did look at me with his big round eyes and I just could not resist him, we can perhaps say that he choose me.
... That was my next Shih Tzu, and certainly not the last!

I started going to dogshows when I was a young girl. One of my best friends mother is a breeder, and we did always follow her to shows. I start compete in junior handling few times, before I start to show my own dogs. I have been on almost every show in Iceland since 1994.

I have also been to shows in other contries to look at my breed and others as well. E.g. Specialshow in Finland 2007, Specialshow and WW in Stocholm 2008, Swedish winner show 2009. Crufts 2003, 2005 & 2010. Among some all breed shows. It have also been a great pleasure to visit Ulla Rinne in Finland, and Lena Persson in Sweden, these women knows alot about the breed.

Even though I like showing, the MOST important thing for me is the friendship and daily live with my dogs. There sweet temperament and true friendship means everything to me!

The year 2004 I went abroad with my friend Auja (Affietude Afghans), to be a kennel help (at Punapaulan, Poodles and Afghans) and to study more about dog grooming. We spend the summer in Finland, visiting breeders, groomers, taking care of the dogs, going to shows.. It was a great experience.

Then the year 2005 I did import my first Shih Tzu to Iceland, my dear Max 'Ch. Shabanoun Mulberry Max'. I knew I´d like to have a dog of that type and from that lines. I was also sure it would do good for the breed in Iceland. Me and Max had a lot of great times and winnings in the ring togeather.
2008 his sweet relative Mika 'Ch. Ta Maria Beat The Fantasy' joind the family, from Finland. My stunning black & White boy.

Well, this is how it all started. My boys have some very lovely puppies, that we are so proud of. One of them lives with us! That is Mika´s son and Antons grandson, wild and sweet Ulli 'Perluskins Everyone´s Fantasy' .

And then the story will continue... : )

We live now in Reykjavík, the capital of Iceland. I did study professional dog grooming year 2003, and did own one of the biggest dog grooming saloon in Reykjavík for 4 years. Then I worked at a veterinarian office. I have been in editorship in the Icelandic Kennel club magazin "Sámur" for few years.
